
Vincent C. Allen
Vincent currently works for the Office of the Chief Management Officer, Office of the Secretary of Defense. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent his formative years in Detroit, Michigan; he attending the following high schools: Sumner, St. Louis, MO; Cooley and Kettering, Detroit, MI; Cajon, San Bernardino, CA; finally, graduating from Highland Park, Highland Park, MI in 1982.
He retired from the Marine Corps in 2002 after 20 years, two months, and nine days of active service. His last years in the Marine Corps were spent working for two Assistant Commandants and the 32nd Commandant of the Marine Corps. He also served with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) at the former Allied Forces Southern Command, Naples, Italy as Joint Operations Center Noncommissioned Officer in Charge during the Kosovo campaign.
Vincent commenced his journey in gospel ministry in 1985, under the tutelage of the late Bishop Archie Buchanan (his mentor) in Okinawa, Japan. From 1987 until 1990 he sat under the leadership of the late Elder Floyd Henry Thuston (his mentor) in Kansas City, Missouri where he honed in on the spirit of servitude. He graduated May 2017 with dual Masters (Masters of Divinity and Masters of Art in Christian Education) degrees from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology (STVU) at Virginia Union University. Vincent completed the Certificate of Theology and Ministry with Princeton Theological Seminary in December 2017.
Adhering to his spiritual heritage and Church of God in Christ, Inc. roots, Vincent maintains that rich culture as he serves as a Superintendent in the cabinet of Bishop L. F. Thuston, Prelate, Kansas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and Chairman of the General Assembly, and as an Adjutant Overseer for the Office of the Chairman of the General Assembly.
He is married to the former Felicia L. Harris of Detroit, MI since January 1984. She received her Masters of Divinity from STVU in May 2015 and is currently a contract Chaplain at Mary Washington/Stafford Hospitals. Their two daughters Tanisha (Preston), and Crystal who reside in Atlanta, GA, their oldest son, Dr. Vincent, Jr. (Ph.D), lives in Valdosta, GA. Their youngest son, Branden lives in Alexandria, VA. In addition, they have six grandchildren; DaShawn, Jalen, Jasmeen, Taiya, Preston, III, and Grie.
Vincent is a lifetime member in the following organizations: Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Virginia Union University Alumni Association; NAACP Stafford Branch; Quantico Chapter #32, The National Montford Point Marines Association, Inc.; and a Gold Plus member of Blacks in Government, Pentagon Chapter.
He is the elected Polemarch of the Fredericksburg (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., and was recently appointed as the Chaplain for the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
